Process

I am entirely results driven, with an almost compulsive desire for perfection. I believe there's a place for everything, and ultimately I seek to find that place. Of course, that's not an easy process to explain as it's intuitive.

In terms of design, I really love the Edwardian period as it introduced a certain frivolity after the sombreness of the earlier design eras. It is quintessentially decorative and full of life after the darkness of the Victorian age and the scale and majesty of Georgian work. I love to mix design movements and while this can be construed as eclectic -- and indeed it is -- to me it is the crucial key to giving a residential or hospitality space impact and the feeling of being lived in.

With all of this in mind, I consider the fulcrum of my work to be curating client's possessions and providing advice on key pieces to start a collection that will work in any space; present or future.

Starting with an in-depth interview, followed by a visit to the space to appraise it, to creating an innovative and inspiring presentation that illustrates the scope, schedule and budget range of the project, Grania collaborates intimately with her clients to help set the bar at just the right place for how they want to live.

ReGreen

As part of a small, elite group of interior designers to be certified REGREEN in the US, Grania doesn’t like waste or excess and believes that aesthetic qualities don’t have to be compromised at the expense of ecological goals. Many of the clients she works with are conscious about their lifestyle choices, so being ReGreen Trained™ is a perfect fit.

REGREEN is a resource program with the goal of reducing the environmental impacts of remodeling, including energy, water, and materials consumption, waste generation, and harmful emissions, both indoors and out.

As an expert in her field, Grania has had her work published internationally; as well as acting as guest interior designer on the TV program, At Your Service, for Irish television. She has also hosted House & Home, a design show for CC TV.
